STARBUCKS IS GETTING SUPER FANCY at some of their Reserve coffee bar locations.

What is it?

This drink sounds amazing. Starbucks describes, quite poetically, how the drink itself will transport you into a winter wonderland of the senses through its deeply evocative smells and flavors. I’ll do my best to get one and let you know if it does as advertised.

The Juniper Latte is made with

  • Starbucks Reserve Christmas 2017 coffee beans. These beans are a blend of Latin American (with “flavors of orange and mulled spices“) and a “rare, spicy” aged Sumatran beans with “deep notes of cedar and sweet, black licorice“.
  • Steamed milk (of course)
  • Syrup made with “dried juniper berries, sage and mandarin”
  • Latte art in the form of a topping of juniper sugar, and a sprig of fresh sage” if you’re lucky enough to be getting this beverage at the Seattle Roastery itself.

The Juniper Affogato is made with

  • “A scoop of Mora juniper ice cream
  • “A shot of Starbucks Reserve® Christmas 2017 espresso

I’m more interested in the Juniper Latte, but I’ve never had Juniper ice cream and this sounds awesome too.

Where can you get it?

Starbucks Reserve coffee bars are located in select Starbucks locations across the country, and are used to showcase and serve the coolest and most select Starbucks beans and drink recipes.
