Recipe of the Day: Extra easy, extra tangy cream cheese frosting recipe
Cream cheese frosting is the best frosting. I love cream cheese frosting more than chocolate frosting, more than vanilla frosting, even more than lemon frosting. It’s the best.
Sadly it doesn’t go with every kind of cake. But the cakes it does go with are better with cream cheese frosting than any other. It sounds like I’m exaggerating, but if you’ve had cream cheese frosting on a good carrot cake, you know what I’m talking about.
- 8 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
- Add cream cheese, sugar and heavy whipping cream. Mix well. If you need a thicker frosting, just add sugar! But I prefer less sugar, which gives a tangier result.
- Spread on your cake, cupcakes, or whatever you like!
